To compose an eight measure melody.

5. Reading and notating music.
Materials:
Procedure:
Have students compose a simple melody following the steps outlined in the worksheet.
They can later enter their songs into Finale Notepad and hear what they sound
Assessment:
Students will be graded on the completion of their composition and the accuracy of their note naming and numbering as well as having measures that contain 4 beats.
